Rowe'a tender lias been accepted for the new Fire Brigade station. Great preparations are being made for the Tennis and Croquet Club's patriotic tournament, arranged for Thursday next. Splendid entries have been received and the grounds are in excellent order. '

The channelling and kerning along Piata Street West is well under way, and is improving considerably the appearance of this popular residential part of the borough.
