Wool.—At the London sales there was better demand for faulties and good competition for best sorts; prices were harder. The following prices were obtained for the fleece portions. of New Zealand clips:—Te Puru, top price 18d, average 17d. The Bradford market was very si«w, with a. steadier tone; 64's, 42'/ a d; 69's, 41% d; common 80's, 40'/ 3 d; 56% 37d; 50's, 31V,d; 46's, 28% d; 40's, 26'/ s d. Wheat.—Dull and drooping; «8s fid is asked for Australian steamer, MayJune; «5s 6d for sailer.'loading. ; Flaur.—Steady and inactive. Oats.—Dull; Bahia Blanc* on passage 30s. Peas «nd beans.—Neglected and unchanged. Butter.—Firm; Danish 180s to 184s, Australian cleared, New Zealand unchanged. Cheese.—Very strong; supplies are short. New, Zealand, 102s to 104s. Sp.clted.—Spot £92, three months £B9. Silver, 27>/«d per ounce. Pig iron, 88s. NOME MARKETS WOOL SALES, Received March 18, 5.5 p.m. London, March 17.; The wool market closed firm at top prices. The wider competition this week hardened prices considerably. As compared with the January sales finest crossbred closed on about a par; medium and coarse were ten per cent, lower; best merino five per cent, lower; average and faulty fully 7} per cent, lower. All sorts of scoured found a good market, owing to the Russian demand, at par to five per cent, decline. NW Zealand clips: Haurina, top 2ip, average 183 d. These were sold for the Home market 77,000 bales, for the Continent 8,000; for America, nil: held over, 11,000. Antimony.—9s 6d, forward. Copper.—On spot £lO7 5s to £lO7 10s; three months £lO3 15s to £lO4. Tin.—Cash, £195 10s to £195 15s; three months, £l9O ]r,s to £l9l ss, Lead.— £35 103 to £35 12a tid.
