Xarris, lion, organiser of the National Service League, Masterton, writes:— ( At the request -af returned men, -the men with kig hearts, the turned-down old ssldiers, we appeal to the public of New Zealand, and the ladies in particular, t« celebrate the deeds of our comrades and ourselves last year by making the day memerial in a national way, and t» drop party and local events for the one day. We respectfully suggest ed and the schoolchildren assembled for a national' service, that the children whose fathers or brothers have answered the Empire call be given a place of honor; (2) in the afternoon bazaars of the children's »wn work or sports be held; the children mentioned be brought in tench with the men who have done their duty to the Empire; (3) evening patriotic concerts be held and the same rule apply. The proceeds in all cases to be given far the benefit of our comrades' orphans or to the Tobacco Fund far our fighting meß.
