Ponsonby played Stratford yesterday afternoon, and after a keen game ended in a tie, both sides scoring 59 points each. A keen and enjoyable game took place at H&wera yesterday morning between the above clubs, the visitors being defeated by six points. Hawera rinks scored 19, 21, 22, and Ponsonby 19, 16, 21 : PLAY AT STRATFORD. _ On Thursday afternoon, the following rink matches were played on the Stratford green:— Alexander, Kirby, Curtis, A. K. Burrowa, Paget," Mills, Nicholson (a), 21, PROGRESSIVE PAIRS AT FITZROY. A progressive pairs tournament among the Fitzroy C'lu'bs members commenced yesterday afternoon, and was continued for some time after daylight had merged into moonlight, the consequence geing that the last round was mostly guesswork and should not be counted. The tournament will be continued next Thursday. The following will represent \Voftt End against Fitzroy to-morrow in the Gilmour Cup competition on West End green, commencing at 2 p.m.: Honeyfield, T. Sole, Olliver, Hill (s); 0. Thomson, J. Johnson, Curtis, ,T. D. Role (s); Salt, Brash', Newell, Morrison (s). The Ponsonby bowlers will play at Inglewood this afternoon. They had fioped to lie able, to visit Waitara, but find that they cannot do so. This will, no doubt, be a disappointment to the Waitara players.
