Some of the returned soldiers at Rotorua are great enthusiasts with tlio rod. Last week one trooper caught witli the fly no fewer than sixty-five fish neat the mouth of tlie Awahou River, running into Lake Rotorua. This is stated to bo a record catch for one rod.
