IN THE AIR.

THE ZEPPELIN RAID. PRE-ARRANGED FIREWOKKS. SCENE IN A YORKSHIRE TOWN. London, March 7. There were astonishing scenes in a Yorkshire town during the Zeppelin raid. The police traversed the slrrets warning inhabitants of the Zeppelin's approach. There was a heavy snowstorm and most people were in bed. The bsnibs roused the town. There was no panic, but there was a great exodus from the poorer quarters, despite the heavy snowstorm, to open spaces. People were wearing their night clothes and few had boots on. Some were carrying infants and some had hastily snatched shawls and table cloths and trudged through the snow and wind. They witnessed a fascinating spectacle when the. airship returned arid poised overhead. Eye-witnesses state that-it was more like pre-arranged fireworks than a death raid. Rlue fairy lights twinkled in the sky, and s{ar shells like falling rockets lit up the snow until the airship suddenly started to roar and went off at a tremendous speed. THE ENEMY'S UNCERTAINTY. BOMBS DROPPED AT RANDOM. London, Mareli 7. Official: Ninety bombs were dropped indiscriminately in rural districts on Sunday; possibly this was due to the rough weather and the Zeppelins being uncertain of their whereabouts and anxious to get rid of their bombs before escaping under cover of darkness, Thirteen people were killed.
