ORDER OF THE STAR IN THE EAST.
The last of Miss Christie's series of lectures was delivered, last night, and was listened to with great attention, as "The Coming World Teacher" —the title of the lecture—is a . phrase which is familiar to all who have attended the previous lectures. The lecturer explained the difl'erenee between the Christ within the heart of every human being and the divine teacher whom we eall the world teacher and who is Lord of all the religions of the world, and also spoke of His mystic connection with Christ as the second person of the Trinity. The head of the Order is Kristaiamurti, known to many as Alcyone, and its protector is Mrs. Annie Besant. All members are urged to make devotion, steadfastness and gentleness, leading characteristics of their daily life, itnd to look first for the good in everjwne they meet, and live so as to bring out that best in all with whom they come in contact. This is all that is required for membership in the order, but all are expected to work as if they believed ill His coming in the near future. The Scripture texts describing His coming were explained and emphasis laid upon the story of His baptism in Jordan at which time when last upon earth He took the body of Jesus.
