"AT THE MERCY OF TIBERIUS." To-night at the Empire Picture Palace the management will present a film version of Augusta Evans Wilson's notable work of fiction, "At the Mercy of Tiberius." This is one of the famous Tlianhouser Film Company's finest productions. The picture is in four reels, and the leading role of Beryl Brentano is sustained by the eminent actress, Florence .1.0 Badie, together with a large cast of notable players associated with her. The groat court scenes described in the book form some of the most striking incidents in the pictured play. There are also some remarkable photographic effects. The lightning phenomenon which photographed a scene on the window glass and so made the indisputable evidence that saved an accused girl's life is well brought out. It is from this incident that the film derives the title of "fiod's Witness." Altogether it is a photo-play o£ tense, subtle acting and colorful scenes; a iilm--1 drama fascinating in its swiftly-moving, plot development, and containing a great fundamental human' clement that will make vou pause and think—a tale wherein is told the greatest story of woman's sacrifice ever filmed, a woman whose soul tasted the. dregs of, uttermost despair that those she loved might live. Supporting this big feature are other rare films, which include the ninth episode of "The Master Key,," the thrilling serial 'drama; Pathe Gazette (topical). ''Scenes in Whitby, Yorkshire" (scenic). "She. Walkelh Aione" .(drama) and ''A Mistake in Type-setting,'" a comedy, featuring Flora Finch.
