SEWTON KING'S REPORT, vtOn Monday, 14th inst., at my Doujjas yards, I had a very heavy entry, with a. good attendance of the public. At Pohokura on Wednesday, 16th inst.. I had a fair entry which realised: Lambs 13s 9d to Ws Id, culls 7s 9d to Bs, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 23s 9d, 23s Id, 22s 7d, 22s (Sd. 22s Id, mixed 2-tooths 15s 9d, 4 and 6-tooth ewes (small) 21s 7d, 0-tooth to f.m. ewes 18s 4d to 193 7d, f.m. ewes 17s 6d, rams 3gns. ; At Stony River on the same day there was a good entry, which met with keen competition, everyihing yarded being sold as follows:—Weaner steers £1 15s to £2 13s, weaner heifers 24s to 32s 6d, mixed wcaners 31s 6d to £2 Is 6d, 18-month empty heifers £2 19s to £3 16s, in-calf 2'/C,-year heifers £5 15s, choice 20-month to 2-year Holsteins £5 2s, choice Jerseys (same age) £4 10s, Sliovthorna £3 13s 6d to £3 14s, 20month steers £4 lis to £4 17s fid, rough £3 17s, 2%-year steers £fi 19s to £9 4s, springing heifers £5 7s Od to £6, heavy bulls £0 7s fid to £ll 17s Sd, lighter £5 5s to £7 10s, very light store cows £2 7s Od to £3 lis, store cows £4 03 to £5 12s (Id, forward cows £C 7s to' £7 10s. fat cows £8 to £lO 18s, rams 2 to 2VS>gns. On Thursday, 17tli inst., at Strathmore. I lipid a clearing sale on accsunt of Mr. Calvert, Buyers were present in good numbers, making keen competition for everything offered. Woolly lambs made 10s 6d. f.f.m. ewes 19s anil 20s. shorn lambs 12« 3d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 22s Od to 245, 9-year marc and foal £2O, fat cow £9 10s, store cows £5 5a to £6, dairy cows £5 15a to. £9, small in-calf heifers £3 12s. On the same day at Awakino for my annual sheep fair and cattle sale I had a full yarding of sheep and cattle.' The attendance of buyers was right up to the usual standard at these yards, and a most satisfactory sale was held, the whole of the sheep and practically all tlie cattle being cleared at the hammer. Some exceptionally fine pens of bullocks were yarded from the local country and Muhoenui, and there were keenly com-

peted for. Buyers from the Wnikato end were present and operated freely for sheep, but in most cases the Taranaki enquiry was too strong, most of the lines frilling to local buyers. At Okan on Friday for my sheep fair and cattle sale I offered one of the biggest yardings seen ia these yards. On Monday, 21st. at Urcnui, I had a fair yarding 0 f cattle, with a good muster of sheep. Cattle were in fair supply* There was a record attendance of buyers from all parts of Taranaki, and at the close of tin rtoy the opinion was freely expressed that "this was the best sale held in the district for years. Messrs Cleland Bros.' annual draft of 1012 two-tooth wethers', made 23s and 22s 7d, and their 830 four-year-old ewes made 22s 4d and 225.
