MOTOR ACCIDENT NEAR INGLEWOOD.
YOUNG LADY INJURED. A serious motor-ear accident occurred on the Mquntain Road beyond Inglewood on Sunday, as the result of which Miss Hilda SimoHs, eldest daughter of Mr. T. V. Simons, of Carrington Road, sustained a broken leg as well as other injuries. Mr. Simons was driving the car, his daughter sitting alongside him, whilst the rear' seat was occupied by a younger daughter and two sons. When traversing a narrow filling, where road improvements are being effected, a jolt caused the wheels to leave the beaten rut and going into the soft earth at the side, the car skidded and capsized. Miss Simons stepped out, but the earth slipping with her she was unable to get clear and was pinned by the ear receiving serious injuries. Her father received a severe blow on the face, but was otherwsie uninjured, whilst the occupants of the back seat escaped without injury. The car was very little damaged. The sufferer was conveyed into Mrs. Bennett's private hospital at Inglewood and attended to by Dr. Nutting.
