TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
Tlie annual show of Hie Taranaki Agricultural .Society takes place on Wednesday and Thursday next, and tlie prospects' of a .very' successful fixture are most encouraging. Splendid entries have been received in the cattle classes, while the competitions, which always form one of the main attractions so far as the public is concerned, have drawn excellent support, good ooinpetition being assured in all these events. Townspeople generally, and settlers throughout the district are displaying much more interest in the forthcoming fiv, ture than has been the experience (luring the past few years. Very much more liberal financial assistance has been forthcoming; thus proving a pr.ieM.Ml sympathy with the efforts of the society, and with the very largely increased membership, too, there should be a record crowd at the show next week. It is possible that some members who have paid their subscription have not received their privilege ticket, and if so they are asked to communicate with the secretary, Mr. A. L. Humphries, at once, so that the omission can be rectified. Headers should bear the show dates in mind—Wednesday and Thursday next, March Ist and 2nd.
