I-RKrARIXG FOR THE ECONOMIC WAR. The success which lias attended the Patriotic Exhibition held at Wellington may be regarded as an indication that the majority of the people of the dominion are becoming fully alive to the necessity for preparing for that, economic struggle which must lake place at the close of the present war. The fact that the British Empire very materially assisted Germany to prepare for the war she is now waging with relentless ferocity against the Allies,' is taking Jeep root, and is arousing a fund of practical patriotism that should grow to sufficient dimensions to crush enemy trade in the future. It is significant that so many thousands should have attended the Wellington exhibition of goods made, or that can be made, in the dominion, and the addresses delivered there by prominent men have done much to prepare the way for entering upon the forthcoming economic struggle with as firm a determination to secure victory as is, the case with our armed forces in the field. A peculiar feature of the exhibition was that the attendance increased every night, and that the larger the attendance grew the greater was the interest evinced in the exhibits.
