After the Arev..usa struck the mine, Commodore R. ft. Tynvhitt saw a stoker on the deck with his leg broken and unable to procure a lifebuoy. Commodore Tynvhitt said: "You may need one more than me," took off his own belt and buckled it on the stoker. Both were saved.
