CONCILIATION COUNCIL.

SITTINGS AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

The Conciliation Commissioner for the Northern nnd Taranaki industrial disricts, Mr. T. Harle Giles, arrived in New Plymouth yesterday for the purpose of hearing four disputes in this .district, viz., Taranaki General Drivers, to-day; Bakers' Drivers, on Friday, Grocers' Drivers, on Monday, 28th; and the Bakers and Pastrycooks on Tuesday, 29th. All the disputes will be heard' at the Town.Hall. New Plymouth, commencing at 11 o'clock. The assessors for the union in all the drivers' disputes arc Messrs Geo. Davis and C. Weaver (Auckland), and F. J. Lyons (New Plymouth). The assessors for the' employers in these disinites are: General Drivers, Messrs. E. A Craig (Auckland). W.-S. Young (New Plymouth) and J. Masters (Stratford), and for the bakers and grocers, Messrs V.. A. Craig (Auckland).'Vf. S. Young (New Plymouth) and W. McDonald (Stratford). The assessors for the union are: Messrs O. J. Veale (Auckland). A. N. Angus and P. Berg (New Plymouth). The assessors for the employers have not yet been appointed. In all these disputes the unions' claims include increase of wages and improved conditions.
