Waitara, Yesterday. The three days' patriotio carnival terminated last Saturday evening and realised a little over £4OO, which will help considerably to swell the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Those who were instrumental by their untiring efforts to make the carnival a success are deserving of great credit.

Waihi gala day, Which is taking plate pn Thursday, promises to be a big success, and Waitara should be well represented there. The Waitara Municipal Band will provide a programme of music, and with the attractions of horse and other events, an enjoyable afternoon'; aport should result.
