TURF TOPICS. (By "Moturoa.") There was some- interesting work reeled .off at Wanganui on Saturday morning. The tracks were wet with dew, and old Sol was just peeping over Putiki Hill when Bimetor skimmed over live furlongs at a fast pace. Emperador shaped nicely over seven furlongs, and then El Gallo and Housewife ran a mile. The latter ran wide out all the way, and although El Gallo was overhauling her at the finish she still held a neck advantage. The clock said 1.44, and both horses acquitted themselves well. Marton strode along boldly over a couple of rounds, finishing up well. Vladian, Aruake. and St. Gate then went a mile over live fences in 1.51, finishing in that order. The pace was on all the way, and the firstnamed horse showed to greatest advantage. Bivouac, who appears to have lost his punch, took about a week to run six furlongs, and finished up like a deranged asthmatic. The Toll was only trotted, but Bonny Helen, Moulu and Recorder were asked to make time. A large number of leaser lights, and sevetrotters, did serviceable work.
