A largely-attended special meeting of Oamaru members of the Amalgamated Society of liaihvay Servants was held in the railway hall to-night. The meeting was called to discuss the cost of living, and a demand for an increase in wages. The following resolution was unanimously carried: "That, while in sympathy with the Pa-lmerston North resolution, we consider that owing to the abnormal increase in the cost of living the Government should be asked to take immediate steps to cope with tli» same; failing this that nothing less tli-.n a 2s increase per day be demanded, otherwise the executive be asked to take inv .mediate and drasjic action,'.!.- "
