TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The time for the closing of 'entries for the big autumn fixture is now drawing near, and consequently a large number are being received daily. The horse section will be very strong, as well as the Jersey, Ayrshire and Holstein classes in the cattle sectien. Among the exhibits will be found the bery best strains in Xew Zealand. In addition to the splendid prizes effered in all classes, there are several geod specials which lave been generously donated by wellwishers ef the Ssciety, and which'should 1)0 an inducement t» exhibitors. The competitions far each day, which are always a big draw, are numerous, and the prize-money good, so that the public are assured of a good day's entertainment. Entries finally close with the secretary on Saturday. Iflth inst., and the show will be lield on Wednesday and Thursday, March 1 and 2.
