NEW FREEZING WORKS.

FOR POVERTY BAY By Telegraph.—Press Association. Cisborne, Yesterday. The Poverty Bay Farmers' Freezing Works were opened to-day at Kaitera(alii, a thousand 'townspeople jourae-jng to the function. The foundation stone was laid m August 20, and it is claimC, that the erection of the works within six months is a Dominion record. Mr. W. S. Lysnar, chairman of director?, mentioned to the credit of the Muperial authorities at home that one of the first actions of the company was to inform the authorities of the establishment of .'.be work? and their importance, in relation to maintaining food supplies, and the authorities readily consented to place material and plant in the same category as war material. Tims the company obtained dispatch whils't plant for other works started twelve ■months before had reached the docks at home and been commandeered. The works have a present capaeitv of 1300 isheep daily. The ultimate full capacity will be 4000 sheep daily.
