WAITARA CARNIVAL
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Waitara, Last Night. The Carnival programme is now complete anil being printed, an immense number have been ordered and will be distributed throughout Taranaki, Probably 110 programme previously issued provides so ninny attractions. The Carnival commences oil Thursday, February 17* with a big procession headed hv the band, of floral decorated prams, bicycle 3, moltor-cars and tradesmen's displays. On tho camp reserve Will be the Horticultural Show, which includes the flower section of sixty classes, the home industries v.'.'ih ■%: classes, and the vegetable section with Gl! classes. The side shows will include jumble stalls, tulip garden, refreshment stall, fortune telling booth, and several children's stalls. Friday will be the big sports day when a splendid programme of athletic and horse events will be presented. The horse and military items will prove a big draw. Saturday will include the fancy costume cricket match, also the school competitions for which a big entry is promised. The Kntertainment Committee have arranged a series of attractive programmes, and have been fortunate in securing the services of Mrs. Birch-Johnston, also Mrs. (leorgc's orchestra. Brief, bright, and varied entertainments will he given, including concerts, minstrels, motion pictures, tableau, children's items, and linkas at a very small charge. Altogether the patriotic carnival a't Waitara for the wounded soldiers is going to be a very big affair.
