BOROUGH COUNCIL.
WORKS COMMITTER The Works Committee of the Borough Council met last night, when there were present: The Mayor (Cr. C. H. Burgess), Crs. A. E. Watkins, E. C. Griffiths, S. J. Smith, V. J. Hill, W. A. Collis, A. H. Johnstone, F. Wilson, J. W. Hayden, J. S. Medley, L At. Monteath. The tender of Atessrs Shaw and Payne for kerbing at Fitzroy and Moturoa," at a cost of £I2S, was accepted, as was also <Atessrs 'Russell and Son's tender for sewer drainage in Barret Street, for labor only, at a cost of £O3 10s. The engineer was authorised to carry out the work as reported by him'at Buller, Eliot, and Hobson Streets intersection. The petition of Dartmoor residents for the improvement of Belt Road and for lighting was referred to the borough engineer and '.o the Electric Light Committee. TRAMWAYS COAtMITTEE. The Tramways Committee also met, the same members being present. The manager was authorised to purchase two clocks, at a cost of £4 10s. and to arrange for the installing 0 f the telephone at the tramway offices. The list of appointments to the tramway staff, as submitted by the tramways manager, was acepted.
