THE HIGH SCHOOL.
APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS. Three new teachers have been appointed to the staff of the New 'Plymouth Cirls' High School. Miss A. Ait ken, of Dunediu. has been appointed science mistress; Miss P. Clark, M.A., of Christchurch, has been appointed assistant mistress; and Miss A. Porter, of Auckland, will take charge of the preparatory school. Miss Porter will arrive from Auckland this morning, and Misses Clark and Aitken will take up their duties in a few days. The vacancy on the staff of the Boys' High School caused by the resignation of -Mr. W. F. C. Balha'm has been filled by the promotion of Mr. C. (i. Bottrill, who was in charge of the preparatory school. Mr. C. A. McKinney, the assistant at the preparatory school, succeeds Mr. Bottrill, and Miss Kathleen Wintield has been appointed assistant.
