Commenting on the light calendar Mr. Justice Chapman said it was a matter of congratulation in these critical times, when .the Government was embarrassed with so nmnv diflieulties, .that there had been jio difficulty in this country due to the presence of a criminal population. At the most there was only a small criminal population in ordinary times, but even that had grown visibly less lately.
