THE DOMINION'S FINANCE.
A VERY SATISFACTORY POSITION. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Tiie Finance Minister said to-day that the increase in consolidated revenue for the ten months ending January 31st, 1916, over the ten months of the previous year was £024,260. For the .twelve months ending January 31st. 1010, the increase of revenue bv comparison with the previous year was £900.483. For the month of January last the increase of revenue over that of January, 1915 was .E]25,740. Sir Joseph Ward said that lie was nob able to-dtyy to say anything about expenditure, a.6 he had not the returns yet, but as soon as they were available he would supply the figures. So far as the revenue was concerned the increase was eminently satisfactory, and if the general consolidated expenditure oould be kept down the country was on the j way to a very satisfactory condition as far as public finance is concerned.
