The Russians have commenced assaults on Erzeroum. The country is roadless and the cold is very intense. The troops are compelled to drag the guns over passes 9688 feet high. The Turk* hav« fourteen divisions on the Persian front, also irregulars and Kurds. "Kbc Russians assert that several regiments have been annihilated. Though it it a long way from Erzeroum to Constantinople, the Turks are rushing reinfcrcemeots to Armenia.
