HORSE SALES
CHEAP THOROUGHBREDS AT HAWERA. The Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., held their annual sale of thoroughbred horses 'at Tattersall's, Hawera, on Thursday morning, when there was a good attendance of the public. The following sales were recorded on behalf of Mr. J. Davidson:— Gelding, ,1 years, by Husbandman— The Rook, P. \V, Scally, Xe\v Plymouth, 11 guineas. Filly,.. 3 years, by Husbandman— Crossguard, W. W. Awdry, Hawera, 25% guineas. Filly, 3' years, by Husbandman— Shedden Park, A. Alexander, New Plymouth. IS guineas. Gelding, 2 years, by Husbandman —Beautiful Star, H. J. Eaves, Otakeho, 25 guineas. On behalf of Mr. D. Barry—Filly, 3 years, by St. Paul, dam by St. Cyr (half Bister to Project), G. Mattock, Hawera, 6 guineas.
