BATTLE OF THE BULLION. " Arrangements for the forthcoming Patriotic Carnival at Waitara, on February 17, 18, 19, are well forward. The various committees have almost completed their programmes and the schedules will bo out early next week. The Sports' Committed have prepared a programme of 13 athletic and 11 liorsc events, included in the latter are popular military eveivls, also some exciting hurdle pimping mi pony racing. The horticultural show provides for fifty classes of popular floral exhibits, including table ami mantel piece decorations. Ye 'etables and home industries ivill be well re-presented. Likewise the farmers classes i'or root crop-. A most elaborate liornl procession has been arranged, owl several novel attractions as decorated motor-cars and tradesmens' displays are promised. There will be no I:ifk of musical entertainments during the Carnivai, as vocal and instrumental ■ci'iicerts, school concerts, minstrels, million pictures, dancing on the green, and a fancy costume ball is suggested. The Waitara Band will provide promenade. concerts each "'veiling, and the ground will be brilliantly illuminated at night by electric light.
