REPORT, „ : Poultry.—At tlie mart on Saturday our pens were well filled witli birds of all classes, prices ruling well in advance of tlic previous week, and we would advise anyone having poultry to dispose of to do so without delay, as the demand for table poultry is exceptionally good. Prices as under: Hens (young) Is 10d to & 3d, fat 2s to 2s lid, poultry young) 2s to 2s 9d, forward and laving, 3s to 3s lid, cockerels (young) Is lid to 2s 3d, table 2s 2d to 2s Bd, ducks Is lid to 2s, drakes 2s fld, chickens ii to lOd. Furniture.—On Wednesday last, on account of Mr, F Death, we held a clearing sale of all his furniture and effects at liie residence in Molesworth street. There was a good attendance of the public and each line offered met with a ready sale. On Thursday at Wajtara, on account of Mr. W» P. Newbery, we held a sale of all his household furniture and effects. There was a good attendance, and prices obtained were satisfactory. Fruit.—During the ' week we have handled large quantities of Nelson, Hawke's Bay and Auckland fruits. Prices are still firm and present indications do not point to there being a glut of an;? particular line this season, and anyone requiring jam fruit would do well to procure it while it is oji the market. Prices as under, according to quality of fruit and size of cases: Peaches: First grade 6s to 7s 6d, eecond grade 4s Gd to ss, third grade 3s to Hsy apricots: choice 8s to 10s, seconds Gs 6d to 7s 6d; nectarines: choice 5s 6d to, Bs, seconds 4s 8d to ss; grapes, 8d to Is per 11); pears: choice W.B.C. 3s Od to 4s Od half box, other varieties 3s to 4s; apples: choice desserts 8s Od to fls, others 7s to 8s j cucumbers, 2s Od to 3s; tomatoes: first-grade. os. fid t» 7s Od, second-grade 5s to 7s; plums: Japanese stone 3s to ss, blue varieties 5s Od to Os Od.
