ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. Hugh Sherson, aged 4ft, a grocer, liv•'ng at Burnley Terrace, Mount Eden, went to his workroom to clean a gun on Sunday afternon. A shot was heard and Sherson was found dead with a shot through his head. He was a married man witn two children. A BOY DROWNED. Ekc'tahuna, Yesterday. Leonard Victor Mitchell, nine years of age, whose parents reside at Woodville, was drowned while bathing in the Makakahi River, at Hamua yesterday. He went in witli oilier boys, and one made repeated attempts at rescue. A man, who was unable to Swim, then arrived, and also tried. The body was recovered an hour later. The police and doctor applied artificial respiration, but without result.
