GERMAN FINANCES. AN AWKWARD POSITION. London, Jan. 30. The Berlin Post deplores the financial situation and the Government's policy of concealment. It declares that it will be a great mistake if the people are not gradually acquainted witli the position, which is terrifying, hut few people have any idea how serious it is. Even the highest thinkable indemnity will not prevent stupendous additions to the next Budget.
THE LATEST ATROCITY. GERMAN TEARS. London, Jan. 30. The Neneste; Nachrichtcn says that the Australians are obviously endeavoring to outdo the, gentlemen in London in plundering private property. It describes the barring of German shareholders as the latest atrocity. The British colonies one day will bitterly repent their present Tobbcry. They have struck ",the heaviest blow at their future prosperity. iDOGS TO BE KILLED FOR FOOD. London, Jan. 30. The Central News' Copenhagen correspondent Teports that the people of Germany have been advised to kill all dogs except the costliest and best breeds, that the flesh may he eaten and the skin 9 used to provide soldiers with coats.
