TARANAKI AUTUMN SHOW.
The Taranaki Metropolitan Society is holding its Annual Autumn Show on March 1 and 2. Until a few years ago this Society, like the majority of other societies of New Zealand, held its annual show in the spring each year, but as it was always unfortunate with the weather, it was decided to change to the autumn. That this change is popular is shown by the great number of entries that were received for the last two shows, many of them coming, as they did, from settlers who had never before exhibited at any show, and also by the keen interest that is being taken by all country people, who, now that 'the busy season is over, have made up their minds to have a couple of days at Taranaki's big feature. A glance at the schedule will be sufficient to convince all who have made up their minds to attend the show that there will be plenty to interest them. Several new classes have been introduced which should oe interesting to the public. The gift calf competition, this year spems to be meeting with general favor, as numerous entries have already been received, and a number of others promised. The schedule has been arranged with great, care by those who have had the experience of years, so that the wants of one and all are' provided for. Entries close definitely on February 19. Schedules may be obtained on application to the Secretary, P.O. Box 19, New Plymouth.
