THE KERERU. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Auckland, Jan. 28. The fire an the ketch Kereru is still burning, but is well in hand. The hull, which is practically gutted, will be beached this afternoon. A large quantity of oil cargo has been jettisoned and is 'floating in the harbor. Probably the vessel is not much injured, but it is impossible to estimate the damage yet. Later.—lt now appears that a large part of the oil cargo still in the Kereru will be saved through the Fire Brigade's efforts and the vessel, though badly burned, is nothing like a total wreck. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa arrived yesterday from Onehunga with 147 ton's of cargo, ineluding 30 tons of sugar, 25 tons of cement, 19 tons of soltar, and 6 tons of tar. KINI FORNEW~PLYMOUTH. Thursday's heavy rain hampered discharge of the Corinna s dairy produce from N.'w Plymouth. She was to have left for the Taranaki port yesterday, biit. these arrangements have been changed The Corinna will be sent to.southern ports, and it is probable that her 'trip to New Plymouth will be taken by the Kini early next week. ESSEX FOR WAITARA.' The Wellington office of the F. a,nd S. Line has been advised that the steamer Essex lias been fixfi to load refrigerated cargo at New Zealand ports next month for Avonmoutlf and Liverpool. She is due at Auckland from Australian ports on February 14, and will proceed thence to Whangarei, Wnitara, Wanganui, and ' Wellington in the orcl.u- named. Being due here on February 28, the Essex will be dispatched for the Home ports mentioned on March 3.
