MOUNT EGMONT.

LARGE NUMBER OF VISITORS. The North Egmont Hostel is again proving itself a popular resort. At present the tents are all occupied, also the cottage and part of :tho old house, the main house being too small to accomodate the visitors. The croquet lawn is now in going order and the game is in full swing all day. A party consisting of Mr and Miss Dryden (of Wellington) Miss Bennett and Miss Marton (of Auckland), and Mr. Hamish Wilson (of Bulls), witli Mr. Williams, went to the summit on Sunday last. Beautiful conditions prevailed until the summit was reached and a magnificent view was obtained, but a very dense fop came on while in the crater which made Hie descent difficult. This was safely accomplished, the party arriving back in ample time for the midday meal.
