Mr. John Greenwood Clayton, the wellknown veterinary surgeon, died at Wellington on Sunday. A Sydney message states that Lieutenant* ilalley Dodgell, who whs killed at the Dardanelles on Decinber 1!) was educated in ''few Zealand. He was a prominent athlete.
The Rev. Henry Papakakura, from Southland, is taking up work amongst the Maori people at Opunake. He lias recently recovered from, a severe illness.
Mr. Alfred Lcggnt died suddenly • ■ Charleston, AVest Coast, on Saiui'ua afternoon, whilst on his way to a funeral. The cause of death was heart disease. Deceased, who was 82 rears of age, had been a resident of the di?trict for fifty years. A London cable says that Captain Tabu Rhodes, of the Grenadier UnanK was married to the Honorable Helen Plnnket, at the Guards' Chapel. Wounded New Zealanders filled several pews, and among the guests were Lords Buecleiteh, Anglesey, Dufl'erin, Iveagh, Cowdray, and Islington. ,
