London, Jan. 21.—Waitomo for New Zealand. MISITAr TO A STEAMER. Wanganui, Jan. 22. A peculiar accident happened to the steamer John, which arrived from Wellington. When berthing at the town wharf the vessel was carried by the strong tide against the bridge broadside on, and the deckhouse caught under the decking of the bridge and was considerably damaged. The lifeboat on the port side and the davits were smashed. The damage may be £IOO. THE CORINNA. The Corinna arrived at Moturoa at 0.30 a.m. yesterday from southern ports, with a small cargo. She will load dairy produce here and sail for Wellington tomorrow. THE STORM. The Storm arrived here at 1.30 p.m. yesterday, from Westport, with a cargo of coal. THE NGAHERE. The Ngahere, with coal, left Greymouth for New Plymouth early yesterday morning. She will call at' Wanganui first, and is expected here tomorrow. THE C. S. HOLMES. The discharge of timlier from the schooner C. S. Holmes will he completed to-morrow night. THE MARERE.
The Marere, which has been lost, was a Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer of 4100 tons net.
