Rear-Admiral Freniantle said to some visitors to the Grand Fleet:—'"Since the lies'iming of the war I have not left my post with the fleet for a single day. Several times the Admiralty gave me the opportunity of a short holiday on shore, but 1 was not willing to take advantage of it. I served HI years uninterruptedly witii the fleet. Xo one should grudge my taking part in another war. and I should never forgive myself if i were absent during a sea battle.'
