THE PRICE OF SUGAR.
UNEASINESS IN DUNEDIi,. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunediu, Jan. 19. Cabled information that tho price o: sugar has been advanced by the Comißnnwe<h Government by £3 los per ton 'Sas caused uneasiness in TJuncclin during the last few days. Grocers l(ave had more than the usual number of ■orders for sugar, there evidently being a feeling that the increase in Australia will be followed by an increase in the Dominion. The New Zealand Food Commissioners, however, arranged the price for sugar at £'2l per 'ton with the Colonial Sugar Company, to stand till the end of .Tune next. It does not seem, therefore, that there can be any alteration in sugar values in New Zealand till the expiry of ilhat term.
