NURSERYMEN'S CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.' Wellington, Yesterday, the conference of the New Zealand Association of Nurserymen opened today. Delegates were welcomed by the Mayor. In an address if he Minister of Agriculture referred to the growth of the fruit industry. Regarding proposed legislation he said that anything that would promote the industry would receive fair and careful consideration from the Government.

BOOTMAKERS' DISPUTE. Wellington, Yesterday. The bootmakers' dispute was heard by Mr. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, and an agreement was reached 011 all the- points except wages, which will be referred to t.he Arbitration Court. Although the dispute deals only with the Wellington district, the assessors agreed that the recommendations be forwarded to the Court and treated as covering the whole of the Dominion.
