Mr. Massey a few days ago communicated with Mr. Hughes, the Commonwealth Premier, on the subject of the possibility of the Commonwealth Government requisitioning certain Australasian trailers calling at Australian ports prior to coming here. This morning, Mr. Massey received a cable from Mr. Hughes, saying that the Commonwealth Government did not intend to interfere with ships referred to, viz., the Ashburton, Berwick Law, Arrino, and Calliope.
