•/ARANAIU'S NEXT DRAFT. FIFTY-FOUR MEN SHORT. i. Tlio Wellington military diatrlet (which includes Taranaki), which did B<i well regarding ilio raising of the 12th Reinforcements, is already in a very strong position respecting the 13th Rein* forcements. The 12th were mobilised' a week ago, aiul the 13th do not go into camp till February 8, but the district has secured three-quarters of the infantry and all the rest of the men it requires for the February draft. One portion of the district (Wairarapa) ha» actually secured its infantry quota. Tarnnaki is required to prdvide 152 men for the I.lih Reinforcements, comprising 2(1 mounted, 11 artillery, 7' en' gineers, 1 signaller, 101 infantry, 3 army service corps, and 8 ambulance. All arms but the infantry have already been provided, and of the 101 infantry* t men wanted, -17 have been secured, leaving the district '>•! men short, 'fho reinforcements will leave Taranaki for camp on Monday.
