DISGRACING THE UNIFORM. TOIUNKEX AUSTRALIANS London. Jan. 16. Australian soldiers charged with drunkenness and assaulting the police, at Westminster, pleaded that thev had been drugged, and that something' should be done to protect colonial soldiers. The Australian provost marshal gave evidence that in a good many eases soldiers became senseless after one or two drinks, and numerous robberies had taken place. An inspector of police said he did not believe that the soldiers were drugged; their insensibility was due to raw spirits, purchased by the bottle at a time.
