Melbourne, Jan. 15. At the compulsory conference in connection with the wheat wharf lumpers' strike, Mr, Justice Higgins decided that the men were entitled to 2s lOJcl per hour overtime and 3s fld on holidays, (eaving the question of ordinary pay optional. The men are resuming to-day, provided the employers' concession is ratified.
COAL LUMPERS' GRIEVANCES. ■ Melbourne, Jan. 14. The eoa! lumpers decided not to wort ill tlio contract rates fixed by Mr-. Justice Hinging, but, in order to make a constitutional demand for hourly rates, will take, a ballot before enforcing their i demand. They also resolved that no work shall be performed after 5 o'clock in the evening. The latter decision ha» already been enforced. COAL EXPORTS. Sydney, Jan. 14. The con 1 exports from .Newcastle in Mlo decreased 737,328 tons, valued at £380,392, compared with 1914. The exports to New Zealand were 477,755 tons, i decrease of 59,044 tons. I GOLD YIELD. Sydney, Jan. 14, The New South Wales gold yield for 1915 was 132,498 ounces fine, valued at £502,819, an increase of 7991 ounces fine as compared with 1914.
