MOA ROAD BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. Tlie monthly meeting of tlio Moa Road Board was held in the Board's office, Inglewood, on Saturday. There were sent: Messrs H. Trimble (chairman), J. Bridgeman, G. Shoemark, A. Capper, <}. Clough, M. Hopson, A, Williams, A. E. Laurence. Mr. J. Hucker was granted leave of absence.

OVERSEER'S REPORT The overseer (Mr. W. R. Davies) presented his monthly report as follows: The following contracts have been completed this month: Grylls and Lawrence, Kaimata South and North and Surrey roads; Rowan and Thomason, Dudley West and Durham East roads. As the Board are expecting the roller shortly, watering tank', spray, pump, iiose. bolting, packing, oil and coal are required. Dudley Road West: New water-tables have been made for a distance of 42 chains. With the chairman's consent, .he had cleaned a drain just above Bedford road. Kgniont Road South: L. Marsh has completed his boulder contract, and in doing so .HO cubic yards extra was put out by mistake. Norfolk Road West: The unmetalled portion at the top end is in u bad state. The settlers informed him that if he sent u man up they would give the necessary free labor i Bedford Road, south of Norfolk West: As instructed, ten chains had been rounded up and eight 12in concrete pipes put in. Mangaone Road: The sot of 9in pipes have been put in. Toi Toi Road: As instructed, eight flin pipes have been sent out and will be put in as- soon as possible. Mis. I'llaneous: f.on.-c stone has been !v'--i-l up and metal blinded on several roads. : m./ report was adopted.

CORRESPOXDENCK. The Stratford County Council wrote informing the Board that they will undertake tlicir share of the joint loan for Mangaotea road as soon as everything is in order. A petition, signed by T. 11. Bredin and T. Porter, in Stratford county, and T If. Bvedin, J. W. Hooper and' 1+ R. Pmjean, in the Taranaki county, asked the Board to raise a loan of £67)0 for metalling a portion of Mangaotea road. The Public Works Department notified the Board that the balance available of the current vear's vote is £49 las ii. The Public Works Department advised that as the Board was finding half the cost for Koliete road, their application would tie considered. The Department also notified necessary alterations in plans for bridge, and asking for amended plans to be forwarded. llr. (lamlin asked the Board to alter the depth of pipes on Bristol road opposite his property, as at present they block tlie drainage from bis property.— Left to the overseer to alter, rates 0 n aeeoiint-Uhat;and,jACftTflifnffi Anderson's. Limited, advised that the road roller was on the Ruahine and later advising that portions were sent forward to Inglewood. The Advances to Settlers Office wrote stating that tlic Board's application for the £3300 loan was being considered. Messrs C'ollett and Co. asked to be informed when the roller arrived,

It was decided to grant the Board's employees an increase of Is per day from February 1. .> ' It was resolved that Mr. Tarry be communicated with re buying the pipe depot site.
