GENERAL MONRO'S REPORT. THE PROGRAMME COMPLETED, London, Jan. 12. Continuing his report, General Monro says.— At midnight it wa3 only just possible to use the .piers and lighters and it was impossible, to carry out the programme of embarking the troops upon the destroyers alongside the sunken ships on •W Beach, owing to the connecting piers having been washed away. Embarkation at Gully Beach was also impossible, and one lighter went ashore. Nevertheless the programme at W and Y Beaches wag completed at 2.30 a.m. and the troops at Gully Beach were embarked at 4 a.m. The Turkish Artillery was practically Went the whole night until the stores were fired simultaneously by time fuses after the evacuation had been completed. The Turks then fired red lights all along the line and heavily shelled the beaches fod trenches until after daybreak, NEW ZEALAND BRIGADE.
