Tn an interview with a correspondent of the Paris paper Le Matin, Yuan-Shih-Kai said: "The Japanese sowing the seeds of revolt in China caused me to lose my temper, I am watching with lively interest tlie moral and religious crisis which i« developing in Japan." He prophesied that social difficulties would soon restrain Japan's alarming externa! activity. Meanwhile Chinese industries were being reorganised on modern lines and 'built up with immense power.
