MR. MEAGHER APPOINTED. By Cable—Pres.? Association—Copyright. Kcecived Jan. 12, 1.10 a.m. Sydney, June 11. The Cabinet further considered the Lord Mayoralty muddle. Mr. Holman subsequently stated that there never was any doubt that Mr. Meagher would lie appointed. Cabinet had decided the matter at a previous meeting, but the ofTic-ial announcement was withheld till a guarantee was obtained from the aldermauic tabor caucus that in the event of a similar deadlock next year no opposition would be shown to the appointment of a nominee of the Liberal side of the City Council. This had now been obtained, and Cabinet to-morrow would ratify the appointment.
