WE WAR IN PARLIAMENT. V REPLIES TO QUESTIONS, Received Jan. 11, 10.15 ,p.m. London, Jan. 10. In the House of Commons Mr. Asquith s»id he did not think it desirable to appoint a select committee to inquire into the shortage of munitions prior to the establishment of the Ministry. Mr. Asquith also said it was undesirable to discuss General Sir lan Hamilton's report at persent. Mr. Bonar Law, replying to Mr. Outliwilte, said that the Government ot Canada has announced that it could mobilise half a million men, including those already under arms; Australia estimated to liave three hundred thousand by June next; and New Zealand estimated to have about thirty-six thousand, with regular reinforcements. Mr, Birroll, replying to a question, said the numbers of men in the different provinces of Ireland were: Leinster 174,597, Ulster 10!J;48f>, Munster 130,637, Con'nauglit. 81,392. The numbers enlisted to December 15 wove: Leinster 27,458, Olster 49,760, Munster 14,190, and Connaught 3089.
