IN THE WEST. GERMANS CLAIM A SUCCESS. Received Jan. 10, 8.40 p.m. .Paris, Jan. 10. A communique states: Wu blew up an ammunition depot at Ln Fellemorte, and forced the enemy to evacuate Stocka, north of Metzeral. Tlie Germans occupied a hill north of Ilirzstein, at a cost of serious losses, and we evacuated the summit of Hirzstein. Enemy aeroplanes bombed the Allied cantonments at Salonika, but the damage was insignificant, and we brought down one plane. A Berlin communique reports: We captured the lost trendies at Hartnianns VVeilerkopf, taken on December 21, capturing 20 officers, 1083 Chasseurs, and 15 machine-guns.
RUSSIAN PRISONERS. Received Jan. 10, 9.5 p.m. Petrograd, Jan. 10. A communique announces: We cap. hired twelve hundred prisoners north' east of Czernovitz on January 7.
