TIMARuVoOL SALE. Timaru, January .". At the second wool sale of the season to-day, 8798 bales were offered and 8411 sold. Last year Hie second catalogue comprised 13,370 bales. The reduction this year is due to there being fewer sheep in the district and 4o sales made privately. Tlio condition of the wool to-day was heavier than at, the first, sale, but a few clips were reallv well grown. Prices for good wools vera well maintained, and best coarse sorts advanced, while, faulties slightly decreased in price as compared with the iirst sale, but sold at rates equal to recent prices elsewhere. Bradford buyers secured the greater part of the catalogue, American and French representatives not being keen. The range of prices was:—Merino. lOd to 14d; linlfbred super, Kid to 18Jd; good linlfbred, 14d to 15;|d; inferior halfbred, J2Jd to 13] d; Corriedale, ]od to ISJiI: three-quarter and crossbred super, 15(1 to 17 : ,' d; good ditto, 13Jd to 14jd; inferior ditto, U-Jd to 12? d. best pieces, lOd to lrjd; inferior pieces, 81(1 to o.|d; locks, 5Jd to 81(1; crutchings, S'Jd to lid.
