CASUALTY LIST. NEW ZEALAXDERS INCLUDED. . Sydney, January 4. The following New Zealanders are included in casualty list No. 129: Private J, Kennery, in hospital at Heliopolis; 'Privates J. L. Knox and A. H. Mclndoe, in iiospita] at Abassia; Privates C. A. Ross and A. McDonald, in hospital at Ghezireh; Private 0. T. S. Cooper, dangerously jvounded, in hospital at Alexandria; Sergeant C. Hudson, in hospital in London; Sapper L. Salek, transferred to Raseltin Convalescent Camp; Privates W. J. Arnold and T. W. Hodgson, in hospital at Malta. SLANDEROUS STATEMENT. BY EX-GERMAN CONSUL-GENERAL. Melbourne, January 4. Senator Pearee quoted extracts from a book published by George Turner, recently German Consul-General, entitled "Awakening of the People of the (Pacific." Turner declares that lie visited many villages where only one person spoke English, and as lie left he could hear them singing "Deutschland über Alles." He states that the Australian colonies have ripened into Socialistic States and are working strenuously towards the severance of the last- linkbinding them to the Motherland. It was not on account of England that they rendered military assistance, "but because they wanted Samoa and New Guinea. Turner concludes t'hat injury has made Germany wise, and her future colonial policy will be different from what it has I)een. After the victory we shall bind on the helmet tighter.
